It is interesting that with all the technology and ergonomic options we're tending to deteriorate more. The studies on back pain are indicating that much of the surgery and MRI's are adding to the high costs of health care almost exponentially, yet the pain is not going away.

The British Medical Journal released a very promising study on a very cost effective solution to back pain - The Alexander Technique. This is a re-education of how to move with integrated fluid motion to ease the snags, hooks and compression patterns typical of chronic back pain sufferers. There is even a ten minute video demonstrating the study and the superlative results: http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/337/aug19_2/a884

Health care has options. It is exciting that other countries are doing research with proven solutions and cost effective too. There is hope for the Health Care options in the U.S.A to begin integrating such options and help to balance budgets as well.
